Tallest building in Poland, constructed 1952-1955 as a gift from the Soviet Union. Stalinistic architecture. 42 floors, 3288 rooms currently used for exhibitions, offices, cinemas, theatres, museums, offices, bookshops. Large conference hall for 3000 people. The spire with antennas for broadcasting is 49 metres high.
