Die Bundesanstalt für Immobilienaufgaben bietet den Osteiner Hof derzeit zum Verkauf an. Preisvorstellung: 9 Mio. Euro. Der Bedarf für Sanierung und Modernisierung wird auf weit mehr als 10 Mio Euro geschätzt. Bis zum 9.11.2008 können Angebote abgegeben werden. Derzeit dient das barocke Adelspalais dem Standortkommandanten des Wehrbereichskommandos II als Amtssitz. Das Ensemble steht unter Denkmalschutz. Spekuliert wird über eine gastronomische Nutzung; sie entspräche am ehesten der zentralen Lage der Immobilie.

Description

The Osteiner yard in Mainz, Germany, between 1747 and 1752 by Johann Valentin Thomann (1695-1777) for the Kurmainzer Oberamtmann Wolfgang Franz Damian of Ostein built as a family farm. He was the brother of the ruling Mainzer Elector Johann Friedrich Karl of Ostein (1689-1763). The baroque palace is a protected historical monument with more than 120 (!) rooms ranging from 6 to 83 sqm. Currently they're used as offices by the German Federal Armed Forces.
