The International Congress Center (ICC) was opened in 1979 after 4 years of construction. It was one of the largest conference centers in the world. It hosts 80 (!) conference halls, from 20 to 9.100 seats. Due to the high costs of maintenance the Berlin City government considers to build a new conference center nearby. Therefore the future of the ICC is currently incertain.
