the great "christal" is one of the spectacularest modern building in Dresden. But for the inhabitants of dresden it was a bit too modern because of its huge concret surface and metal-structure. This building was like an impact of an meteorite in the citycenter. Some weeks after opening the architects put aluminium fences on the frontside of the building to defuse the cold concret surface. Tody the inhabitants accepted the building and it´s a great space for exhibitions and events. And a great contrast to the "old dresden".

I can't find anything aggressive in this architecture. The building looks amazing, and I will definitely have a look on my next stopover in Dresden. What do you think, is there something like "aggressive architecture" at all?

That's what I think, too: It's important for tourism, but for the citizen and their history as well.

Yes, some day. I think it is a good project for the whole region because the tourism is a important sector of the rgional economy. I hope that more investors come to dresden

I think it will be a beautiful place some day! Up to now lots of tourists visit Dresden because of the Frauenkirche, and it will be much more when the Neumarkt is finished.

Build in 1841

It was first built in 1841, by architect Gottfried Semper, in the Early Renaissance style. It had to be rebuilt after a fire destroyed it in 1869.
