Does anybody have more night shots of the building? Especially the illumination of the walls at night are very interesting. I have seen it at new year's eve and it impresses me every time again.

It is an ongoing discussion whether the building represents a shell or the head of a whale or. It is definitively a fun and interesting place to go to especially with kids, because the Science Centre encourages “learning by doing”.

new buildings added to the area

The Science Center or Universum in Bremen expanded its exhibitions over the last years. A new playground for children as well as the iron cube with special exhibitions were added to the complex. Currently, the Chocoladium is presented to its visitors.

New Name

The building was called "Stadthalle" until it was party rebuilt and renamed "AWD Dome" in 2005. It can host up to 14 000 people and looks really great from the outside now. Every year in October there is the famous "Bremer Freimarkt" just in Front of the AWD Dome.
