All over the world one can discover a development towards a creative and very innovative building structure: rotating buildings. In Dubai a tower is planned with a solid non-moving core and floors which can rotate individually as well as in combination with others. This gives the viewer the impression of a choreography in gigantic proportions. A video demonstrates this impressively. It is planned to use pre-built sections to improve building time. Wind turbines will be integrated to generate electricity which is needed to power the motors to rotate the various floors. These modules help to manage the extra electricity consumption in the own building.

Another good example of a rotating building can be seen in Brazil. In the City of Curitiba the architect Bruno de France designed a tower which enables the individual floor to rotate around the main building core. The different floors are built for residential use. The dining area for example can be turned towards the sun at six in the evening, at breakfast time one can enjoy the coffee looking at the city centre - it makes different views and fields of vision possible.

A smaller version of a rotating home can be discovered in San Diego, USA. It is designed for one family and offers an incredible view over the surroundings from all areas of the house. An interesting element of that building is the parking lot which avoids being obliged to back out of the garage. The two turn tables rotate the cars 180 degrees after the car has been parked.

Wow, that's really cool. I would love to live in a building, where I can change the lookout every day. Happy are those who really can....well, hopefully they are.
