MIPIM, coined “the world’s property market”, is the world’s premier real estate summit. It “draws upon its unique international coverage and reputation to bring together the most influential decision-makers in the market, offering them access to the largest available showcase of development projects.” (www.mipim.com, 2009) The organization has almost 30,000 participants, around 6,800 investors, and includes 89 countries. MIPIM honors leading projects through its annual awards ceremony. On January 23, an international jury chose 15 projects in five categories, namely Business Centres, Refurbished Office Buildings, Residential Developments, Hotels & Tourism Resorts, and Green Buildings, to compete for the prestigious awards.
