We have been doing some winter cleaning here at ourbania! We have cleaned up the clutter on our home page to deliver the most vital information in the shortest amount of time. We have created a “Dashboard”, of sorts, which shows the newest projects, comments, and members in the glimpse of an eye. In addition, the information that was originally on the home page has been moved to the Markets page. Got anymore cleaning suggestions? After logging into ourbania.com, you will notice a new "Markets" tab between "Projects" and "People". After much contemplation, we at ourbania.com thought it would be useful and informative to create a "Markets" page where we could focus on hot markets. On this page, you can learn more about featured markets and go straight to a list of Projects associated with a certain city or area.

November's marketplace is focussed on Dubai. We encourage you to add your own Projects from Dubai.

Not only can you now view up to 100 Projects on a Google map at one time, you can now use a filtering application to show only the Projects that you choose on the map! Here’s how:

• Go to “Projects”
• Click the “Maps” tab
• In the right-hand column select the type of project you want to see on the map
• Click “Apply Filter”

New! Online Community Manager

My name is Rachel, and I am the new Online Community Manager for ourbania. I am from the USA but live in Germany. I am excited about exploring all your new Projects and about adding some of my own. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or any additional suggestions or innovative ideas that you may have for the ourbania community.

Poll: The Results are In!

This Thursday, the ourbania team is going to upload the new profile sites to the community. Unfortunately, based on that, ourbania.com will be offline and unavailable for a short time from 6:00 am to 10:00 am Central European Time. We apologize for any inconvenience which might occur!

The new profile site will widen the possibilities of entering information about you, the citizen, so that others will be able to get to know you a lot better.

The ourbania team is currently busy updating the ranking possibilities of urban items. The team came up with some ideas for ranking features. The basis for the ranking could be the attribute building costs as well as the gross floor area and the building height. As a result, buildings and interesting spots could be compared to each other based on the real estate details.

Besides the existing community terms of use on the bottem of the start page of ourbania, the community management team integrated the community rules to the site. Besides the more formal & jurudical background of the terms of use, the community rules describe behavioural issues and underline the social part of the community.

Hi citizens, we're excited to see the community grow. More and more cities and urban items show up in ourbania. Thanks to all who contributed!

Last week, we experienced that quite a number of landscape projects, parks and the like have been added. So I'm wondering wether our fixed set of categories suits all these kind of urban items. What do you think? Does ourbania need more or different categories, for example to describe the building use?
